Content plays a very integral role for teh success of any website. Content is the only thing that is making your website different from your competitors.

2. Check your Audience. For example, my target audience includes rural areas or hilly areas with internet connectivity issues and the content format that I select for them is Videos. What will be the result? Disaster, ofcourse. My audience wont be able to download the video and tehy wont get the information that I am intending to share with them. So select your content format as per your taget audience.
3. Maintenance. You are a newbie who wants to develop a good website with all flash based content. So for teh first time you did uploaded all flash based content. But with passing time this turned out to be a costly venture for you. So decide wisely!
4. Check your competitors to know what type of content are they using and are they benefitting form it?
5. Also please keep a check on new laws or anything that can make or break your website( related to content).
